Lahore: Special Education Department Punjab is practically striving hard for rehabilitation of special children and in this connection all resources are being utilized.
These views were expressed by Additional Secretary, Special Education Department Ch. Iqbal, Director Faazil Cheema, Country Director, Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD), Fazal ur Rehman, Director Fiaz Ahmad, Principal Government Training College for Blinds Afifa Iftikhar, Riaz Syed, Khalid Awan, Mian Abdul Sattar, Qazi Mehmood, Dr. Syed M. Ilyas and others while addressing the ceremony for distribution of wheel chairs, white canes and walking frames among special children held at Punjabi Cultural Complex Gaddafi Stadium, here today.
Addressing the ceremony, Director Special Education Faazil Cheema said that education and training of special children is our collective responsibility and special education department, in collaboration with welfare organizations, is providing all facilities to the special children. He said that the teachers of special education are fully cooperating with the parents. He appreciated the efforts of Punjab government for restoration of special children. Country Director HHRD, Fazal ur Rehman threw light on the working of this HHRD and apprised the participants of welfare works carried out throughout the country. Colorful programmes were also presented during the ceremony, which were appreciated by the participants. Later, Country Director HHRD, Fazal ur Rehman, Additional Secretary Special Education Ch. Iqbal, Director Faazil Cheema distributed supportive devices among special children.
