JI urges world bodies to stop victimization of JI leaders in Bangladesh

pic 2Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has impressed upon the United Nations, the OIC, Human Rights bodies and the media to take notice of the trials and the convictions of the JI leaders in Bangladesh and prevail upon the Dhaka government to stop it.
Addressing a meeting of the heads of the different JI sections in Mansoora on Wednesday, he said that the so called War crimes tribunal was a mockery of the law and justice.
He also deplored the silence of the Pakistan government in this regard, and urged the rulers to protest against the convictions of the JI workers and leaders on official level.
Liaqat Baloch said that the JI workers and leaders in Bangladesh had offered innumerable sacrifices for the solidarity and integrity of Pakistan.
The meeting welcomed the Supreme Court verdict stressing the autonomy of the Election Commission and calling for holding free , fair and impartial elections. It noted that now it was the responsibility of the all the institutions to stop creating hurdles in the way of the Election Commission. It said that free and fair elections were possible only when there was no pressure on the EC from any quarter.
