Old Anarkali Police takes action for creating rowdiness in the court

Lahore: Old Anarkali Police has started preventive proceedings for creating rowdiness on premises of Lahore High Court, Lahore and sent the complaint to the court of Magistrate. Under the code of criminal procedure Magistrate is competent to initiate proceeding against persons disturbing public peace and tranquility.

According to details, on February 25, 2013, a woman, Mumtaz Bibi, hailing from Chiniot appeared before the court of an Hon’ble Judge and submitted that she had contracted marriage on her free will and the abduction case lodged against her husband was fake. The Court let her go with her spouse after hearing the arguments of the counsel of the parties. As she stepped out of the court room, her relative ladies attacked her and beat her severely. However, Police present at the spot interfered and escorted her out of the court premises under its security.

Now Police has completed the complaint on creating a scene in the court premises and sent it to the court of Magistrate. Regular proceedings of the case will commence shortly. It may be mentioned that courts premises are meant for providing security and peace to the visiting people and there is stern punishment in the law to deal with any untoward incident.
