Huge resources are being spent on the parks:Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that huge resources are being spent on the construction of beautiful parks throughout the province for providing recreational facilities to the people. He said that separate ladies parks are also being constructed for women whereas facilities have also been provided for the recreation of children in the parks. He said that every development project including construction of parks, metro bus, distribution of laptops and Ujala programme are unprecedented with regard to transparency and quality. He said that no one can quote any kind of corruption, coercion and safarish. The Chief Minister said although there is no legal binding yet as per our conscience, he has presented himself and his entire team for accountability as we consider ourselves accountable before the court of Almighty Allah, people and the law.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Nishat Recreational Park at Nishat Colony Lahore Cantt, here today. Best recreational facilities as well as jogging track, walkway, solar lights, children play area, gym, cafeteria and parking have been provided in the park spread over seventy seven kanals of land and completed at a cost of rupees four crore. Member National Assembly Khawaja Saad Rafique, Members Assembly Mian Naseer Ahmed, Yasin Sohal, Ghazala Saad Rafique and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
Addressing the function, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sahrif congratulated the people of the area on completion of excellent park in Nishat Colony. He said that the efforts of members assembly, district administration, DG PHA and people of the area are laudable. He said that the happiness on the faces of youth at completion of this park reflects that change which we are bringing under the leadership of Mian Nawaz Sharif. He said that raising slogans of revolution and claims of change are easy but giving them practical shape is difficult. He said that a big Khan is making false propaganda of spending Rs.70 billion on metro bus project and another gentleman who did not serve the masses during his tenure is claiming Rs.90 billion. He said that in order to expose their lie, we have handed over metro bus, Ujala programme and laptops scheme to an impartial institution, Transparency International to judge the transparency of these projects. He said that after the audit of these projects, everything would be clear. The Chief Minister said that if corruption of even a penny or any irregularity is proved in these projects we are ready to face any punishment but if the reality of expenditure and transparency of these projects is proved, then those making false propaganda should also be held accountable. He said it is very unfortunate that those people who committed massive corruption during their era are criticizing public welfare programmes. He said that Zardari and his cronies spread darkness in cities and villages of the country, looted Hujjaj, committed dacoities in banks, looted national resources ruthlessly are taunting us why we launched metro bus for the poor and workers. Shahbaz Sharif said that he used to say that the time will come that the vehicles of elite would be down and the buses of poor will be above. He said that metro bus project has proved that today the bullet proof vehicles of Prime Minister, Chief Ministers, Ministers and elite are down whereas the metro bus of poor people is above. He said that metro bus does not stop at any signal whereas the vehicles of the elite have to give way to metro bus, this is the real change. He said that metro bus, laptop, ujala programme, self employment scheme, educational fund, yellow cab scheme are our such welfare programmes which will help in eliminating gulf between poor and rich. He said that if people gave an opportunity of service, the country would be made a Pakistan of Quaid and Iqbal by eliminating corruption and darkness from the country under the leadership of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Addressing the function, Member National Assembly Khawaja Saad Rafique said that a beautiful park has been constructed for providing recreational facilities to the people by saving the land of Nishat Park from ‘qabza’ groups. He said that the foundation of change has been laid by abolishing discretionary quota. He said that the youth of the country are with Nawaz Sharif for saving Pakistan. Members Provincial Assembly Mian Naseer Ahmed, addressing on the occasion, said that completion of mega projects in the area is a clear proof of the development vision of Shahbaz Sharif. He said that the barren land of Nishat Colony has been changed into a beautiful park. Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the park and inspected the recreational facilities being provided there. Upon seeing the Chief Minister, the people raised slogans enthusiastically.
