PML-N backs ECP’s decision on intra-party polls

Lahore: The PML-N Wednesday welcomed the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision that political parties, including PTI, PML-Q and PAT, should hold intra-party polls if they want to participate in the next general elections.
PML-N leader Khurram Dastgir Khan MNA said in a statement that those political parties which are calling for reconstitution of ECP should first reorganise their party structure.
“The PML-N is the true representative of people as it has already conducted elections to elect party leadership in 2012,” he said.
He said that although the PTI says it is holding elections within the party, chaos and disorder during the polling process has exposed rifts within the party.
“How can Imran Khan’s PTI run the affairs of country when the party itself is disintegrated and divided into many groups?” he questioned.
