Lahore: On the direction of IG Zafar Abbass lak National Highways and Motorway Police N-Central have launched special campaign to brief and educate the drivers of heavy traffic vehicles (HTVS) & Public service vehicles (PSVS) to check lane violations, continue usage of 2nd lane and proper coordination with concern authorities for the removal of died animal from national highways said by DIG Rai Altaf Hussain while directing the police officer at zonal office, Lahore.
Rai Altaf Hussain directed officers to initiate special campaign to brief, educate and carry on necessary enforcement of law against the drivers of PSVs who deliberately commit the violation of fast lane , use of pressure horn and continuous use of overtaking lane. All the officers of N-5 Central have been strictly instructed to perform their duties vigilantly and especially check the above mentioned violations as it involves many precious lives. DIG Rai Altaf Hussain said that as the use of pressure horns by PSVs is a permanent source of nuisance and causes inconvenience to other road users, necessary action may be taken against the drivers using pressure horns. He further directed the officer make proper coordination and arrangements with local authorities for the removal of died animals from national highways.
DIG Rai Altaf Hussain asked the officers to make all out efforts to make these campaigns successful to maintain the lofty status of NH&MP.
