ITC and PITD jointly organize dialogue on the promotion of Pak-India trade ties

Pak Bharat-1Pak BharatLahore: The International Trade Centre and Pakistan Institute of Trade and Development, Ministry of Commerce jointly organized a public private dialogue here today on the promotion of Pak-India trade ties, the implementation of SAFTA and trade policy.

In the dialogue titled “Enhancing Competitive and Export Potential for Trade with India in the Light of Improved Trade Relations and Full Implementation of SAFTA”, a detailed briefing was given on problems facing Pakistan and India in bilateral trade, customs, tariff, trade policy and problems of the business community.

A proposal was presented in the dialogue to adopt a sector wise trade policy in all fields including agriculture, industry, livestock, textile and automobile. The dialogue was attended by Vice President of Lahore Chamber of Commerce, Additional Secretary Ministry of Food and Research, Additional Secretary Ministry of Commerce, Secretary Industries Commerce and Investment Punjab, Secretary Livestock, Secretary Agriculture, Members Chamber of Commerce, Farmers Board, business community and a large number of representatives of civil society. A technical session was also held on policy reforms in agricultural and industrial sector.
