Officers to strictly monitor processions of Chehlum Imam Hussain:Zulifqar Khosa

Lahore: Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan has directed all Commissioners, Regional Police Officers, DCOs and DPOs to strictly monitor processions of Chehlum Imam Hussain, in accordance with the check list, besides ensuring foolproof security arrangements and installing CCTV cameras and arranging video coverage of processions routes, in order to ensure security of participants of Majalis and processions.

He gave these directions while presiding over a special security arrangements-related meeting held in connection with Chehlum Imam Hussain, which was also attended by provincial ministers and officers of all concerned departments.

Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan called upon divisional and district police officers and administration, throughout the province to ensure motorcycles and car parkings at a safe distance away from the processions and Majalis routes of Chehlum Imam Hussain. He said that Members National and Provincial Assemblies have been asked to remain in their respective constituencies during Chehlum Imam Hussain, alongwith conducting peace meetings in this regard.

Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan also exhorted officers to keep a vigilant eye on security matters by not ignoring even a small and insignificant event, besides personally conducting survey of routes of processions and places of Majalis. He said district administration, agencies and police officials should keep a close liaison during Chehlum Imam Hussain and ensure security cordon around processions and Majalis. He said that, in order to ensure protection and security of participants of Majalis on Chehlum Imam Hussain, mobile phone service could also be jammed, at the request of police and the district administration.
