Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the forthcoming general elections are of extra-ordinary importance as the survival and solidarity of the country depend upon these elections. He said he is confident that people will bring Pakistan Muslim League-N into power through their votes. He said that PML-N under the dynamic leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, will transform Pakistan in accordance with the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
He said that Mr. Zardari and his cronies have set records of corruption and after coming into power, PML-N will recover every penny of looted money from plunderers, dacoits and thieves. He said it is unfortunate that Pakistan has nuclear missile in one hand and a bagging bowl in the other. He said that inefficient rulers have made Pakistan a bagger country and destroyed national institutions. He said that there is neither electricity nor gas and lakhs of labourers are becoming jobless daily. He said that Zar Baba and Forty Thieves are responsible for energy crisis and meting out an unjust treatment to Punjab which will not be tolerated. He said that a deadly blow is being given to Punjab economy by suspending supply of electricity and gas to its industries. He said that due to corruption of federal government, the country has been stuck into a quagmire and in order to make Pakistan a self-reliant country and achieve the goal of progress and prosperity, PML-N will have to be brought into power in forthcoming general elections.
He was talking to Assembly Members of various districts, here today. The Chief Minister said that Mr. Zardari has given nothing but problems to the people of Pakistan. He said had the looted money been available, hundreds of hospitals, schools, colleges and roads could have been constructed. He said that in order to provide modern transport facilities to the people and build schools, colleges and residential colonies, the daily corruption of billons of rupees will have to be brought to an end. He said that PML-N will spare no effort for the elimination of corruption, as the country is now sinking into a sea of corruption. He said that Punjab government of PML-N is executing various programmes for the development of education, health, transport, infrastructure and other sectors in a transparent manner. He said that educational scholarships are being given to 40 thousand poor but talented students purely on merit basis by setting up Punjab Educational Endowment Fund of Rs.10 billion. He said that lakhs of laptops are being distributed among brilliant boy and girl students purely on merit. He said that for the first time in the history of the country, Daanish schools at par with Lawrence College, Aitcheson College and Cadet Colleges have been set up for the children of the poorest families in the backward areas of South Punjab where free education is being provided to them.
He said that Punjab government of PML-N has served the masses with honesty and commitment and that is why people are looking towards PML-N. He said that problems of the masses will be resolved by PML-N under the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and if given opportunity by Allah Almighty, a dignified status will be ensured to the country at international level. He said that after Lahore, Solid Waste Management and Metro Bus Service Projects are being started in five other big cities of the province. He said that metro bus project is in the final stages of completion and will result in availability of international standard travelling facilities to the common man. He said that metro bus is not merely a project but a mission and is being completed expeditiously with a missionary spirit.
He said that people know full well who is looting notational exchequer and who is serving them round the clock with commitment and dedication. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the victory of PML-N in the bye-elections has proved its popularity in the masses and all surveys are showing vast public support to MPL-N. He said he is confident that masses will ensure an overwhelming victory of PML-N candidates in the general elections. He stressed upon Assembly Members to pay full attention to solution of public problems and personally supervise development projects in their respective areas.
