Lahore: The spokesman for Punjab Text Board Lahore while clarifying an appeal regarding alleged gundasim, has said that the Jacket 6-B was not of the appellant Muhammad Faisal but was obtained by Book Sellers International Publishers by making the lowest bid in tenders and as such was legally entitled to receive the cheque for printing of the book.
The spokesman further said that the cheque which Muhammad Faisal wanted to get with regard to Jacket 6-B was to be received by the owner of Book Sellers International, Zaheer-ul-Islam or his representative but Muhammad Faisal wanted to get this cheque forcibly for which he was not legally entitled. An application was received from the owner of Book Sellers International, Zaheer-ul-Islam to the Chairman Punjab Text Book Board Lahore on December 24, 2012 that he was out of Lahore and the cheque should be given to his representative Muhammad Junaid.
The spokesman said that no unpleasant incident had occurred at the office of Punjab Text Book Board. He further said that some vested interests, like the last year want to delay publication of text books this year as well to defame Punjab Text Book Board Lahore as well as Punjab government but the Board has taken effective measures for the timely publication of text books and handed over more than half of the text books to be distributed in the public sector schools to the concerned authorities.
