969th Urs ceremonies of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh starts today

Lahore: The 969th Urs ceremonies of Hazrat Ali Bin Osman Al-Hajvery, known as Data Gunj Bakhsh, R.A. started today with the competition of recitation from Holy Quran and speeches. The students from madaris, colleges and universities from Lahore and surrounding areas participated in the competition. The people gathered there, were thrilled by recitation of Holy Quran and spirited speeches by the contestants. Chief Guest, Secretary and Chief Administrator Auqaf Tariq Mehmood Pasha, Khateeb Data Darbar Mufti Muhammad Ramzan Sialvi, ulema and mashaikh attended the ceremony.

Provincial Secretary Auqaf distributed prizes among position holder students. Muhammad Nasrullah, Ejaz Ahmad and Azizur Rehman obtained first, second and third position respectively in recitation competition while Muhammad Arsalan Ansari, Hafiz Ali Moeen ud Din and Omair Sharif obtained first, second and third position respectively in speech competitions. Muhammad Jameel of Jamia Hajveria was awarded with a special certificate and prize.

In his address on the occasion, Secretary Auqaf said that promotion of education and message of Sufis is need of the hour who promoted love, affection, peace and brotherhood among the masses. He said that peace prevailed wherever this message reached and wherever the effort was made to stop this message, terrorism increased. He said that Islam preaches justice. The responsibilities of judges for these competitions were performed by Sahibzada Raghib Hussain Naeemi and Allama Muhammad Mustafa Hazarvi.
