PPP, PML-N conspiring to steal public mandate:Imran Khan

Hyderabad/Dadu: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Monday said that both the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and Nawaz League were conspiring to steal the public mandate in the upcoming elections by installing consensus caretaker government.

“If such conspiracies are not stopped forthwith, the PTI would launch a huge long march which would sweep away all conspirators as well as the corrupt coterie,” Imran Khan expressed these view while addressing Hyderabad High Court Bar Association and a public gathering in Dadu during his mass contact drive in Sindh.

He said that the appointment of a leaguer as new governor of Punjab and the congratulatory message to the new Punjab governor by Shahbaz Sharif has fully exposed the ‘secret deal’ between PPP and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the PTI had already informed the people of Pakistan that both PPP and PML-N had struck an underhand deal and the new Punjab governor was a joint nominee of both parties.

He said that those politicking in the name of poor Sindhis have turned richer but the poor have become poorer. He said that the ruling elites have been misleading the Sindhi masses with hollow sloganeering to hide their corrupt practices.

“The dual local government system in Sindh is a conspiracy to divide Sindh Province. This is unacceptable for the PTI and we would resist this decision. We would hold demonstrations across Sindh if any move is made to divide Sindh Province,” he maintained.

Imran Khan categorically stated that peace cannot be restored in the financial hub of Karachi until and unless police force is depoliticised. He held Sindh government responsible for the miseries being faced by the people of the province.

He that progress of the country could only be possible if there was rule of law, adding that economic activity generation could only be possible with the supremacy of rule of law. He said that dual electoral system had destroyed the country and hence, the PTI would wipe out the system and would establish Islamic Democratic system once comes in power.

He said that the dual local government system introduced in Sindh was not acceptable to PTI and his party would bring a uniformed local government system across the country where there would be no discrimination between the rich and the poor.

Commenting over the statement of Tehreek-e-Minhaj-ul-Quran chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, Imran Khan said that Dr Qadri had supported his party’s agenda to hold tax evaders accountable and ensure that justice prevails, as the national kitty had to face Rs. 4000 billion annual losses only in tax evasion.

Lashing out at President Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Imran Khan said that they both were playing a fake dual and both had no concerns about masses’ hardships.

Talking about the controversial Kalabagh Dam, Imran Khan made it clear that it should not be constructed without the consent of all the provinces.

Earlier addressing a press conference in district Dadu, Imran Khan said that terrorist activities were afoot across the country, but the government seemed completely failed to put an end to it. He vowed that the PTI could restore peace in the country as it knew how to curb the menace of terrorism.

The PTI Chairman observed that the general elections should be held on time as only elections could bring change in Pakistan.

“The politicians, who have been doing politics in the name of Sindh, are becoming affluent, while the layman is getting poorer. This is enough to believe that the former has no concern with miseries of the latter,” he maintained.

Imran Khan stated that landlords were involved in water theft while small land owners were being deprived of water that multiplied their miseries manifolds. He said that 40 years ago, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had led a tsunami in the country but the PTI’s tsunami would bring about a tsunami which would be unparalleled.

“Those who are doing politics in the name of reconciliation are weak. The PPP has appointed a leaguer as the new Punjab governor who is nominee of PML-N,” he added.
