Lahore: Punjab government has decided to launch a vigorous campaign for eradication of dengue from January 15 and Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a special monitoring committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal for monitoring the campaign against dengue. Secretaries of Local Government, Health and Agriculture departments and Commissioner Lahore Division will be its member.
Punjab government has sent a coordinated dengue plan for eradication of dengue to towns and tehsil municipal administrations of the province. Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal has directed all towns and tehsil Administrators and municipal officers to ensure the implementation on the dengue plan sent by Punjab government by January 15, 2013. He said that the special monitoring committee set up by the Chief Minister Punjab will continuously monitor the performance of town and tehsil administrators and municipal officers all over Punjab and strict action will be taken against the officers showing negligence in this regard.
