Punishment to president is punishment to state:Lahore High Court

Lahore: Chief  Justice Lahore High Court Omar Atta Bandial  has said to punish the President is like punishing the state,he made these remarks while hearing the case of President dual office case.

The court declared that as President has no administrative powers so he has immunity from criminal cases.The case heard by 5 members bench headed by Chief Justice Omar Atta Bandial.

Attorney General Irfan Qadir argued before the court that the applicant was involving the court in politics and filed such application that would be for the state security.He condemned the decision on KBD and said this decision was taken by deceiving the court.

The Chief Justice showed his anger over these remarks and said no one could criticize the Judge who made decision according to the constitution,better to appeal against the judgment,Court would not bear the attack on the independence of the judiciary.The further hearing of the case  is postponed till tomorrow.
