Lahore: A special committee headed by Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has sent a summary to Chief Minister Punjab for final approval of the recommendations prepared for appointing council officers as administrators in concerned union councils.
This was disclosed at a meeting presided over by Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa at 90-Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, here today. Advisor to CM Begum Zakiya Shahnawaz, Secretary Law & Parliamentary Affairs and Special Secretary to Local Government besides other concerned officers attended the meeting. The powers of administrators with the Tehsil/ Town Officers (Regulations) will be transferred to council officers after appointment as administrators.
The meeting had proposed that as there were no elected councils, therefore, council officers should be appointed as administrators in the concerned union councils. Earlier, Tehsil/ Town Officers (Regulations) besides working as price control magistrates and ensuring implementation of other municipal laws in their concerned areas had also to perform the additional responsibilities of administrators.
