Judges to deliver comprehensive judgments without fear:CJ Lahore High Court

Lahore: Chief Justice Lahore High Court, Mr. Justice Umar Ata Bandial has said that resolving grievances of the aggrieved people is a great virtue and asked the judges to deliver comprehensive judgments without fear or favor so that these could not be challengeable at higher forum. Dignity and credibility of courts will be enhanced with help of such judgments and this was the hallmark of the judiciary.

Hon’ble Chief Justice was addressing a concluding ceremony of Capacity Building Training Course for female Civil Judges at Punjab Judicial Academy. Senior Pusine Judge, Mr. Justice Sagheer Ahmad Qadri and office bearers of Lahore High Court Bar Association also graced the occasion.

Hon’ble Chief Justice said that first preference of the High Court were courts of original jurisdiction where people approach first of all for redressal of their disputes. Environment, workplace and infrastructure of these courts will be improved even slashing budget of High Court so that district courts judges could decide cases with peace of mind. Hon’ble Chief Justice stressed upon the judges to deliver comprehensive judgments that should be upheld in higher courts. He asked them to further improve their behavior as judges speak through their judgments, treat the lawyers equally and appreciate the counsel arguing the case well.

Hon’ble Chief Justice asked them to inform him about ugly incidents in courts promptly so that these could be referred to Punjab Bar Council and Pakistan Bar Council whose respect and cooperation with judiciary was enviable. Hon’ble Chief Justice advised the judges to hone their legal skills by doing research work and seeking guidance from landmark judgments of the Supreme Court by going through Law journals.

The participants of the course include Aysha Khalid, Samia Asad, Samina Ijaz Cheema, Shahzadi Najaf, Asma Tehseen, Shazia Cheema, Farhat Jabeen Rana, Asha Tariq, Saima Qureshi, Nadia Tuz Zehra, Zertashia Ali, Najiah Battol, Meher un Nisa, Amber Gul Khan, Shazia Munawar, Aneela Saeed, Zunaira Zafar, Nasira Perveen, Bushra Anwar, Nighat Sultana, Humaira Muzaffar, Nabila Aamir, Ezat Negeen and Tahira Yaqoob.

Director General Punjab Judicial Academy, Mr. Justice (R) Tanvir Ahmad Khan and representative of trainee judges, Miss Aysha Khalid also spoke on the occasion.
