In a statement issued here at Mansoora on Wednesday, he criticized the role of Election Commission towards the attitude of political parties during by-elections what he dubbed as sorry-felt attitude of the election commission.
He said the nation had expressed its confidence over Chief Election Commissioner and Secretary Election Commissioner and had due expectations in upcoming general elections. “Both the leaders have shown their helplessness saying it is responsibility of the provincial government,” he added.
Dr. Paracha said the free and fair elections depend on peaceful environment but the election commission had proved that the elections code of conduct was not more than a moral statement.
He demanded of the election commission to take action against law and order situation during by-polls. “If it does not take any action, it will directly be responsible for any untoward situation in upcoming elections,” he warned.
