CM to stop the police attrocities on the residents of a Jhang village

Lahore: In-charge, Election Cell of the Jamaat e Islami, Zafar Jamal Baloch, has appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister to stop the police excesses on the residents of a Jhang village who were being victimized after a dacoit escaped from the police custody.

In a statement here on Wednesday, he said that one of the dacoits was killed in an encounter while the other had escaped after breaking the police cordon. He said the police had thoroughly searched the nearby village, Chak 175 Mochi wala, which had Baloch population, but had failed to trace the absconder. Now, the police was torturing the villagers on the charge of providing shelter to the absconder. It had demolished several houses in the village and set them on fire. Practically, the entire village was under siege.

The JI leader called upon the Chief Minister to take notice of the matter, order immediate release of the men and women taken in custody and direct the police not to punish the people for its own incompetence.
