PML-N Candidate defeated PTI backed independent candidate in NA-162

Lahore: PML-N Candidate Ch. Zahid Iqbal who recently joined the party has defeated PTI backed independent candidate Rai Hassan Nawaz in NA-162, Chichawatni (Sahiwal). Ch. Zahid was PPP MNA fromna-162 but his membership was terminated due to his dual nationality. After surrendering foreign nationality,he join PML-N. and contested the election.
Rai Hassan Nawaz who had won different elections from the area a number of times now claimed to be an independent candidate in the bye-elections.

He was actually supported by Tehrik-e-Insaaf as the portraits of Imran Khan were prominent on all his banners and flags while the leaders and the workers of PTI attended his election meetings.
Rai Hassan Nawaz has alleged that Punjab govt has changed the result.people entrusted him but the official machinery robbed the public mandate and announced the winning of PML-N candidate
