Government will take every possible step for the welfare of the youth:Malik Iqbal Channer

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Jails, Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar while talking to a delegation of students, has said that promotion of education is utmost important for speedy development and progress of the country. He said that Punjab government has taken solid steps for promotion of education in Punjab. He said that more than four thousand IT labs are functional in the whole province and the students from Attock to Rahimyar Khan are benefitting from these modern labs. He said that Punjab government will take every possible step for the welfare of the youth. He said that last year laptops were distributed among students on merit and this exercise would be repeated this year too without any “sifarish” or pressure.

Malik Iqbal Channar said that provision of resources for equipping the youth with modern knowledge is useful investment which would leave a far-reaching impact on the future of new generation and the nation. He said that 1.25 lakh laptops were distributed among talented and intelligent male and female students last year and more than one lakh modern laptops are being distributed this year. He said that these laptops would also be given to the students studying in evening shift and the government has allocated four billion rupees for this scheme.
