Lahore: Chairman Cabinet Committee Punjab for Moharramul Haram Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has directed heads of law enforcement agencies to ensure the protection of mourners at all costs and no one would be allowed in the processions and majaalis of Moharram without thorough checking.
He said this while presiding over a meeting to review the arrangements of Moharramul Haram here today. Special Assistants to CM, members of national and provincial assembly, secretary home, additional IG Special Branch, senior officials of police and agencies were also present. He said that no one is above the law and strict action should be taken against those violating the code of conduct for Moharram. He said that except the officers and officials of law enforcement agencies, no one is permitted to carry or exhibit weapon during the processions and majaalis of Moharramul Haram.
Senator Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa on the information of holding majaalis and taking out processions without license and violating the routes and misuse of speaker in some districts of the province, has directed the concerned regional police officers and district police officers to register cases against those responsible of it. He also directed the members of national and provincial assemblies to remain in their constituencies till the end of Aashoora-e-Moharram and keep close contact with the people so that no untoward incident could happen.
Senator Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa also sought details regarding law and order situation from Commissioners, Regional Police Officers and DCOs of the province on phone in their respective divisions and districts during the meeting.
