Pb.govt has made effective arrangements to maintain peace:Ch Ghafoor

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Planning & Development Ch. Abdul Ghafoor has said that Punjab government, on the directions of Chief Minister on Aashoora-e-Moharram, the glimpse of which can be seen in Gujranwal and other districts of the division. He said that security arrangements would continue till last procession of Zuljinah and Taazia in every tehsil and city.

He expressed these views in a special meeting held at DCO Office Gujranwala. DCO Gujranwala Muhammad Amin Chaudhry and CPO Abdur Razaq Cheema gave briefing about security plan of civil administration and police. Additional Commissioner Riaz Ahmad Butt, Additional District Collector Saleh Saeed, DOC Waseem Abbas, Additional Commissioner Gen. Azeem Khan, Assistant Commissioner City Syed Salahuddin, Assistant Commissioner Cantt. Saima Ali, District Information Officer Tahir Chaudhry, DOH, RM Muhammad Saleem Sagar, Maulana Abdul Aziz Chishty, Qaari Zahid Saleem, Ghulam Kibria Shah, Maulana Mushtaq Cheema and other elite of the area attended the meeting.

Ch. Abdul Ghafooq said that Punjab government has assigned responsibilities to all the ministers for providing help and assistance to the administration for maintaining religious harmony and peace in the whole province and in this connection he has also been deployed in Gujranwala, Sialkot and Gujrat districts. He said that this is commendable that police and civil administration have made foolproof arrangements in these three districts besides consulting ulema for promotion of religious harmony.

He said that as per national demands and patriotism frame work at every level has been completed and the only need is to maintain unity in our ranks. He said that all schools of thought have been linked with Islam and we have to keep a vigilant eye on our common foes individually and collectively. Later, he visited the control room, set up at DCO Office, and asked various questions from the staff deputed there. Ch. Abdul Ghafoor appreciated the performance of staff in the control room. DCO and CPO apprised the Provincial Minister of the details of the security arrangements made at tehsil and district levels.
