Islamabad: A delegation comprising Senators belonging to FATA led by Senator Islam-ud-Din Sheikh, Chief Whip called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf here at the PM House on Thursday.
According to a press release the Senators apprised the Prime Minister about the upcoming legislative business in the Senate including the draft 22nd amendment and 23rd amendment pertaining to dual nationality.
The Senators assured the Prime Minister of their unconditional support and cooperation to the government both inside and outside the House.
The Prime Minister appreciated the political sagacity and maturity demonstrated by representatives of Federally Administrative Tribal Areas (FATA) in both the Houses and said that their contribution and role in the stability of the government merits appreciation.
In response to a demand by the Senators, the Prime Minister announced 200 “lungi” allowance for each Senator.
Those who met the Prime Minister included Senator Abbas Khan Afridi, Minister of State for Commerce, Senator Haji Khan, Senator Hilal ur Rahman, Senator Eng. Malik Rashid Ahmed Khan, Senator Hidayatullah, Senator, Muhammad Saleh Shah, and Senator Malik Najmul Hassan.
