Lahore: National Highways and Motorway Police N-Central have launched two weeks special campaign to brief and educate the perils of using pressure horns by Public Service Vehicles in which Motorists are advised to remove pressure horns and multi-unit devices to avoid prosecution and also contribute sensibly to eradicate the menace of indiscriminate use of horns in the interest and safety of people.
While holding a meeting with the senior officials of NH&MP, DIG Rai Altaf Hussain said that use of Pressure Horns while driving distracts the driving concentration of the drivers and can result in serious accidents. He instructed them to take remedial measures to curb this unhealthy trend.
He further said that as the use of pressure horns by PSVs is a permanent source of nuisance and causes inconvenience to other road users and increased the noise pollution levels also. Moreover, Buses and trucks mostly use pressure horns which are harmful for the ear.
DIG Rai Altaf Hussain asked the officers necessary action may be taken against the drivers using pressure horns and make all out efforts to make these campaigns successful to maintain the patronizing status of NH&MP.
