IG claims to solve all the terrorism cases reported this year

Lahore: Due to untiring efforts of the police officers/officials, the crimes rate has been decreased by 30 per cent while the jewelry shops and bank robberies have been controlled across the Punjab province. The 

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman stated this while addressing a prize distribution ceremony held at the Central Police Office (CPO) Lahore to reward the Multan police for their outstanding performance. RPO Multan Aamir Zulifqar, SSP (Operations) Gohar Nafees, SP Mansoor Rana and SP CIA Multan Maqbool Ahmed were also present on this occasion besides other officers.

The provincial police chief said that the lists of Top-10 and Top-20 criminals are prepared while the Punjab Police are hunting 8000 to 10,000 proclaimed offenders. The more the POs will be arrested, the faster the crime rate would fall, the IGP added.

The IGP further said that the progress and economic development of any country depends upon its security and law and order situation. The economy always flourishes in peaceful atmosphere. Therefore, the police are implementing zero crime policy in the province.

On this occasion, the IGP awarded cash prizes of Rs 795,000 among 28 police officers of Multan region for smashing the terrorists’ network.

RPO Multan Aamir Zulifqar was given commendatory certificate and Rs 200,000 cash prize, Rs 100,000 was awarded to SSP (Operations) Gohar Nafees, SP Cantonment Multan Mansoor Rana and SP CIA Maqbool Ahmed were given Rs 75,000 each. Similarly, the IGP also awarded commendatory certificates and cash prizes of Rs 25,000 each to five Inspectors, Rs 15,000 each to six Sub Inspectors, while Rs 10,000 each to two ASIs, two Head Constables and nine Constables. Two women police Sub Inspectors including Shabina Saif and Nazima Mushtaq were also among those rewarded.

Meanwhile, a 13-member delegation of Shia Ulemas called on the IGP and discussed issued related to Muharram security plan. Allama Waqar Naqvi, Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi, Syed Khurram Naqvi, Syed Asad Abbas Naqvi, Syed Saadat Abbas Naqvi, Syed Husnain Zaidi and Syed Farhan were members of the delegation besides others.

The IGP appealed to the religious leaders to extend their full cooperation to the police in order to maintain law and order and peace during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram.
