Country cannot afford delay in elections: Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the country cannot afford delay in elections. He said that only honest and patriotic leadership can put the country on the road to progress by steering it out of crisis and restore its lost status. He said that Pakistan Muslim League-N will get thumping success in coming elections.

He said this during a special interview to a senior correspondent of a leading news agency of Turkey here today, Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan and Turkey are tied with everlasting relations of love and the hearts of people of both the countries beat together. The Chief Minister said that instead of making only speeches and projects in paper, we have taken practical steps for strengthening economic relations between both the countries. He said for the first time in the history of Pakistan, work is continuing on projects of 500 million dollars with the cooperation of Turkey in Punjab and he is highly grateful to Turk President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and Mayor Istanbul Kadir Topbas. He said that Turk companies have started projects in Punjab purely keeping in view the brotherly relations and not on the basis of trade and profit. Shahbaz Sharif said that solid waste management project has given a new look to Lahore. He said that through launching of Metro Bus System, not only best public transport will be available to the people but they will also get rid of traffic problems. Replying to a question, Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is forwarding towards change and people are going to elect their representatives in the coming elections. He said that the development projects between Punjab and Turkey are unprecedented with regard to transparency.
