Lahore: Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister, Begum Zakia Shahnawaz has said that and house wives and its complete implementation will result in provision of a number of facilities to them.
She was addressing a meeting held to review progress on Punjab Women Package at 8 Club Road, here today. Secretary Women Empowerment Punjab Irum Bukhari, Secretary Social Welfare Malik Tahir Sarfraz Awan, Additional Secretary, CM Secretariat Ambreen Majid, Sajjad Haider, Nadir Khaleeq, M.Salman, representatives of Law, Finance, Health and other concerned departments were present on the occasion.
Secretary Women Empowerment, Irum Bukhari told the meeting about the steps being taken for implementation on Women Package. The meeting discussed the matters regarding laws for the protection of women, throwing acid on them, provision of legal, psychological and medical assistance in the Women Crisis and Rehabilitation Centers at district level, giving facility of payment of rent by only one in case of both husband and wife are government servant and residing in the same home and setting up of toll-free helpline. The meeting was informed that the summary of restoration of medical, psychological and legal assistance to women at women crisis and rehabilitations centers under the supervision of DCOs at district level has been approved and necessary funds will be released within ten days for it.
Begum Zakia Shahnawaz said that women package will be an example for other provinces and they could also benefit from it. She said that this package will bring revolutionary changes in the lives of women and they will have socio-economic and legal protection.
