Lahore: Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has directed heads of monitoring committees, law enforcing institutions and administration to make foolproof security arrangements in order to maintain law and order -ul-Haram. He said following the zero tolerance policy in this regard, strict action would be taken against any dereliction of duty.
He expressed these views while presiding over security arrangements review meetings in Faisalabad, Sargodha and Rawalpindi divisions today. On this occasion, Chief Secretary Punjab, Nasir Mahmood Khosa, IG Punjab, Haji Habib ur rehman, Home Secretary Punjab Shahid Khan, Commissioners of relevant divisions, regional police officers, DCOs and DPOs were present.
Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa said in order to create religious tolerance and harmony, close cooperation and guidance of ulema of various schools of thoughts should be announced by taking them into confidence. He further directed the Commissioners of three divisions and regional police officers of those areas to personally visit sensitive areas before Muharum-ul-Haram and resolve all issues amicably. He further stressed the need for ensuring that zakreen and speakers making provocative speeches in majalis are not invited so that law and order situation is maintained.
Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa who is chairman of cabinet committee on Muharum also directed the officers and officials of security institutions to remain constantly vigilant during the Muharum period. He said pillion-riding ban should only be imposed at unavoidable places, so that citizens do not have to face any botheration in this regard.
