Lahore: Chairman Punjab Education Foundation, Raja Anwar has said that the PEF has introduced cheaper model of education of poor children through public private partnership. This model has resulted in provision of free education to 13 lakh poor and hapless children in the schools near their homes and in this way these students are acquiring education in a respectable manner instead of wasting their time in the workshops and hotels, he added.
He stated this during a meeting with a representative delegation of partner schools of Multan division at his office today. Officers of Punjab Education Foundation were also present on this occasion. Raja Anwar informed the delegation that Punjab Education Foundation is implementing a comprehensive programme of raising the educational standard of its partner schools. He said that the role of partner schools is of paramount importance in the provision of free education to the poor children, therefore Punjab Education Foundation has also arranged library books and computer education to the students along with capacity building of teachers of these schools. He further said that Punjab Education Foundation has launched a big programme of free education in South Punjab for the elimination of poverty and ignorance in the region besides equipping the youth with the knowledge.
