JI urges Supreme Court to take notice of accelerated electricity meters

Lahore: Deputy Secretary General, Jamat e Islami, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, has urged the Supreme Court to take suo moto action against WAPDA and power distribution companies for accelerating the speed of the electricity meters and over charging the consumers.

In a statement here on Sunday, he lauded the Supreme Court decision drastically slashing the CNG prices which would provide immense relief to the common man. He said that all the electricity meters, especially the digital meters installed by WAPDA or its companies were accelerated by 25 per cent and the common consumer was over charged where as the rulers and their associates were continuing electricity theft with impunity.
