YDA condemns KEMU adminisration

Young Doctors Association has strongly condemned the decision of Pro-Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University of shifting the female students to Boys Hostels. Out of 6 Blocks of Boys Hostels, one is Broome Hostel Mcloed Road which is being allocated for girls and 60 male doctors who are already living there are being forced to vacate the hostel. Instead of getting old block of girl’s hostel repaired university administration is getting it demolished and further aggravating the shortage of rooms for the girls. All the members of academic council including senior professors have opposed the decision of the VC but he is not willing to reconsider. Instead of using of empty building of Shahbaz Research Centre as girls hostel university administration is forcing the girls to shift in boys Broome hostel. This issue is also worth mentioning here that boys hostels are already short of space for boys and if this decision is implemented the incoming new first year will not be able to be accommodated in boys hostels due to shortage of space.

YDA office bearers Dr. Rana Sohail, Dr. Salman Kazmi, Dr. Talha Sherwani, Dr. Ghulam Qasim, Dr. Murtaza Bloch, Dr. Muhammad Khawar Khan, Dr. Shahid Dreshik, Dr. Waqas Gondal, Dr. Khuda Bukhsh, Dr. Asim, Dr. Shams, Dr. Muhammad Azhar and Dr. Muhammad Amjad have also added that mobile phones are snatched from male doctors walking from hall road to Mayo hospital on daily basis. Who will be responsible for the safety of girls under these circumstances? They have also demanded that the Chief Minster Punjab and Chief Secretary Punjab should personally take notice of this issue and revert this decision.
