Punjab Bar Council Tribunal dealt with cases of 16 advocates

Lahore: Punjab Bar Council Tribunal dealt with cases of 16 advocates for allegedly possessing fake and fabricated degrees and professional misconduct.

The Tribunal is headed by Mr. Justice Sh. Najam-ul-Hasan Judge Lahore High Court, Lahore being chairman while Mr. Zafar Mahmood Mughal and Muhammad Lehrasib Khan Gondal Advocates/Member Punjab Bar Council are its members.

The Tribunal suspended license of Zafar Ali Khan Advocate of Lahore on the basis of serious allegations till 15.11.2012 the next date of hearing on the account of three complaints lodged against him by Mst Arshia Javaid, Muhammad Hussain and Malik Tariq Ali.   

In another appeal against Rizwan Israr Razi Advocate of Gujrat, the Tribunal directed the Controller Punjab University to hold inquiry and fix responsibility on the university officials involved in the issuance of bogus result card and for making fabrications in the University record on the basis of which Punjab Law College issued him Provisional Certificate. The Principal PLC has also been directed to appear in person on the next date of hearing.                                   
In another case DSP (Investigation) of Civil Lines Lahore Circle has been directed to appear and apprise the Tribunal why proceedings have not been initiated against advocate Mushtaq Ahmad Naeem Advocate of Toba Take Singh who has been declared proclaimed offender by the Investigation Officer.             

During proceedings of case of Anjum Sohail Maan Advocate of Sheikhupura, he voluntarily confessed his guilt about the bogus documents and requested the Tribunal for lenient view. The Tribunal cancelled his license and certificate issued by Punjab Bar Council to pleade as Advocate.  He was penalized to pay a fine of Rs. 15000/- to the Punjab Bar Council within a week and present its receipt before the tribunal on the next date of hearing.  

The degree of another advocate Ahsanullah hailing from Layyah was found bogus on verification by the Deputy Controller of Examinations Bahaud Din Zakariya University whereas the Assistant Controller of said University present in Court claimed it to be valid degree. The Deputy Controller has been directed to appear on the next date of hearing alongwith record on the basis of which he declared it bogus. The Tribunal also took up the matter of bogus degree of Sh. Abdul Majeed of Lahore and directed the Controller of Bahauddin Zakria University to appear with original record to verify his degree.

In another case of bogus degree possessed by Ch. Muhammad Asghar Advocate belonging to Chunian, the Tribunal directed Principal Lahore Law College to appear with record on the basis of which the College issued him Provisional Certificate.

Apart from above cases the Tribunal also heard complaints of professional misconduct filed against advocates Muhammad Sajjad Butt, Tahir Naeem, Waqar Hanif Bhatti, Nasir Mahmood Javaid, Nasir Mahmood, Iftikar-ud-Din, and Parvaiz Aslam Ch. and adjourned hearing till 15.11.2012
