Lahore: On the orders of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman, District Police Officer (DPO) Sialkot Afzal Ahmed Kausar has constituted a three-member committee to probe into allegations of torture by Sialkot police on the protesters at Azadi Chowk. The police chief took notice of the incident after the TV channels aired the complaints of the protesters about the police attitude.
As per details, the committee to be headed by SP (Investigations) Sialkot Asad Sarfraz will thoroughly investigate the matter while DSP Waseem Akhtar and DSP Moeen Buttar will be members of the committee. The inquiry committee has been directed to submit their report to the IGP at the earliest.
