Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that the incapable federal rulers have set new records of loot and corruption which should also be entered into Guinness Book of World Records. He said that the day of accountability of those who committed corruption and plunder is near. He said while Punjab government is setting records of public service, the federal government is engaged in loot and corruption. He said that our past and present is witness to the fact that Muslim League-N has always respected law and constitution whereas Ali Baba Forty Thieves have forced the nation to starvation for minting money.
He was talking to media after a function held in connection with Punjab Youth Festival 2012 at Expo Centre today. Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, DG Sports Board Punjab and other concerned officials were present on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that Punjab Youth Festival has promoted healthy activities and inculcated a new spirit and enthusiasm among the youth. He said that Punjab Youth Festival is the festival of the whole nation. Shahbaz Sharif said that more than 42 thousand Pakistanis have set a new world record by singing national anthem upon which the entire nation should be congratulated. He said that this international record is not only for Punjab but for the entire Pakistan. He said the Youth Festival has become a ray of hope for youth and holding competitions on the pattern of youth festival is a welcome step for polishing the talent of the youth. Shahbaz Sharif said that besides welfare of the youth, Punjab government is also implementing various revolutionary programmes for equipping them with modern technology and a monthly stipend of Rs.10 thousand will be given to fifty thousand unemployed and jobless graduates by giving them internship in government and private institutions. The Chief Minister said that Punjab government of PML-N is launching this revolutionary programme from October 23 which is aimed at giving practical experience to the youth.
Earlier, on arrival of the Chief Minister at Expo Centre, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan welcomed him. First of all, the Chief Minister witnessed the show of remote control aeroplanes and appreciated the abilities of the youth. The Chief Minister also visited the stalls of female students taking part in the cooking competitions. Later, the Chief Minister also witnessed the demonstration of a man who set a record of pulling a heavy vehicle with his body and appreciated his skill and power. The Chief Minister also visited various stalls and sections set up in connection with youth festivals at Expo Center and talked with the youth present there. He also visited Punjab Job Fair and inspected various stalls. A large number of youth upon seeing the Chief Minister among them expressed their delight and raised slogans “Dekho Dekho Kon Aya – Sher Aya Sher Aya” and “Shahbaz Sharif Zindabad”.
