Punjab government is taking steps for the blind persons:Hamza Shahbaz

Lahore: Member National Assembly Hamza Shahbaz Sharif has said that rehabilitation and provision of every facility to special persons and enabling them lead a respectable life is the test for collective conscience of the society. Punjab government is taking more steps for the rehabilitation and establishment of educational and training institutes for the
then previous governments. He said that Punjab government will give a grant of ten million rupees to Pakistan Association of the Blind (PAB) for the success of the efforts aimed at making blind persons useful citizens of the society. He said that quota of special persons serving in Provincial Special Education Department will be increased from 2 % while the services of special persons working on daily wages and contract basis will be regularized.

He was addressing a function held at Alhamra Hall on the occasion of International White Cane Day arranged by Pakistan Association for the Blind. Saba Sadiq, Dr. Fehmeda Hameed, Secretary Special Education Abdullah Khan Sunbal as well as blind and special persons were present in large numbers. Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said that special persons have as much right over government resources as other people. He said that a special park would be developed for special persons at Bagh-e-Jinnah and it will be reserved only for this segment of the society. He said that site will also be provided to Pakistan Association of the Blind for setting up of its office.

Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said that political situation is not satisfactory in the country and federal rulers have ruined all important institutions. He said that common man is facing great difficulties and his trust is shaking in the present political system. He said that Pakistan Muslim League-N is proving to be the last ray of hope for the people. It is necessary to save the common man from despondency and putting the country on the road to progress and prosperity, he added. He said that federal government has set records of loot and plunder in Islamabad while in Punjab, Muslim League-N government has taken revolutionary measures for the development of education, health and other sectors.
