PML mission is to serve the people:Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League senior central leader and Deputy Prime Minister has reiterated that PML mission is to serve the people, we are taking the mission of Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed onward, Sialkot Motorway would be constructed and linked with Gujrat and we had established Cardiology Centre at Wazirabad and we would start it. Addressing a big gathering on the occasion of Sui gas supply project inauguration in Pind Goraya in district Gujrat today, Ch Parvez Elahi said we had started the project to construct Sialkot Motorway during our tenure but this was dropped by N-League in enmity of Gujrat because Sialkot Motorway was to be linked with Gujrat. He said if with the blessings of Almighty Allah and support of the masses at large we come into power again, we would construct Sialkot Motorway and link it with Gujrat.

Ch Parvez Elahi declared that we have been undertaking projects for the welfare of the people earlier and we would also continue to do so in future as well. He maintained that we had undertaken record development works in our tenure which are unparalleled in the history of Pakistan. He said that the Cardiology Centre was established in Wazirabad at a cost of Rs 3 billion but Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif did not bother to start it adding that the outsiders have no concern with pains and sorrow of the people of Gujrat who, after Almighty Allah, share our honour. Continuing the Deputy Prime Minister said that we had started 1122 Emergency Service in the Punjab which is a precious gift for the people of the province and set up the Gujrat University, like which there is no other university either in Pakistan or in India. He said we have been serving the people with good intentions, sincerity and love in the past and we would continue to do so in the future also, Insha-Allah. He said for the sui gas supply project which he is inaugurating today, funds were released during his tenure as the Chief Minister.

Ch Parvez Elahi stated that Pakistan is the first Islamic country which raised the voice against making of the blasphemy film. He said that we are grateful to President Asif Ali Zardari who on the asking of Ch Shujat Hussain raised this matter and highlighted concern of the Pakistanis in this regard in his address at the UN General Assembly adding that we are sure the criminal would be punished. The PML senior central leader went on to say that the performance of the governments of both PML and N-League is before the people, during our tenure of five years we had served the people and as compared to this, what they did, this should be decided by the people themselves. He said N-League had done nothing but to institute false cases, registration of false FIRs and promotion of “Thana culture” whereas we had started and completed several development projects for the welfare and well-being of the people of the province. He said that we had undertaken all these development works without any discrimination for the whole of the Punjab including Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur and Gujrat and pledged that we would do the same, Insha-Allah, in future also. He said that pains and pangs of the people of Gujrat cannot be appreciated and understood better than us by anyone else and asked the audience that they should ask N-League people whether they have done anything for them. On this occasion, Ch Nadeem Akhtar Malhi, Ch Waseem Haider Malhi, Mian Imran Masood and Ch Azmat were among those present.
