Shahbaz Sharif calls on the President of Turkey Abdullah Gull

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif called on the President of Turkey Abdullah Gull in Ankara. Matters of mutual interest, besides exploring possibilities of boosting investment and collaboration in various development sectors in Punjab, came under discussion during the meeting. Talking to the Turkish President, Punjab Chief Minster Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the people of Pakistan and Turkey are bound in eternal relations of friendship, brotherhood and affection which are getting stronger with the passage of time. He said that Turkey has supported Pakistan in every hour of difficulty and Pakistani people have found their Turkish brethren standing with them shoulder to shoulder during every natural calamity, including earthquakes and floods. He said the hearts of the people of Pakistan beat in unison with their Turkish brethren, and the unprecedented and rapid progress made by Turkey, during recent decades, serves as a unique role model for Pakistan. Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said the close cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey, especially in Punjab for execution of welfare and development projects, in the fields of transport and solid waste management is highly praiseworthy and these projects have successfully been completed in collaboration with the Turkish companies. Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif thanked Turkish President Abdullah Gull for his valuable cooperation and taking personal interest in completion of development projects in the Punjab province.

Talking on the occasion, Turkish President Abdullah Gull said that steps taken by Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for progress, prosperity and welfare of people of Punjab are highly appreciable, and Punjab province is on the road to rapid progress, under his leadership. During the meeting, the Turkish President extended his good wishes for the people of Pakistan.
