Chaudry challenges Sharif brothers

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League senior central leader and Deputy Prime Minister to show just one work as compared to our 14 new and quite successful schemes of public welfare and service, there would have been no electricity load-shedding in Punjab if our power generation projects were not stopped.
Addressing a big gathering on the occasion of 31st death anniversary of Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed in Gujrat today, Ch Parvez Elahi said that after failure of all their schemes, they are now running after the bus in Lahore. He said falsehood lives only for short period and truth of our service to the people is coming to the fore.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that Ch Zahoor Elahi family would always keep the light of service to the people burning, we had taken oath 31 years back for the uplift of Gujrat, we today pledge and take oath today to further improve and develop it, people of Gujrat and we are each other’s identity, progress and development of this province and Pakistan is our mission adding that whenever blessed by Almighty Allah, he as the Chief Minister and Ch Shujat Hussain as the Prime Minister had taken the best welfare measures for the service to the people, our politics has always evolved around better future for the poor. He said Shahbaz Sharif has stopped govt funds of the schools for the poor and diverting these to the Daanish School although the girls and boys students receiving prizes from him have studied in these very schools.

Continuing, Ch Parvez Elahi said that Sharif Brothers have not blessed by Almighty Allah to do good work, they have no realization about people’s problems and difficulties and no sympathy either. He said that all funds of Punjab have been diverted to bus service which has divided Lahore and asked them (Sharif Brothers) to have mercy on the poor people. He said we had established Gujrat University in which thousands of students including girls are studying and being provided all modern facilities including transportation. He said they should set up even one ideal university like this.
He said the people are repeatedly saying that tenure of Chief Minister Ch Parvez Elahi was a golden era because we had introduced schemes like 1122 Emergency Service. Traffic Wardens, free education and books, stipends and scholarship for the children, Consumer Courts, gave representation to the minorities in the Provincial Cabinet and also provided adequate funds for their places of worship, exempted tax on five marla houses and twelve and half acres of land, Patrolling Posts, and established institutions to check and prevent water theft and ensuring water supply to the tail and child labour for the welfare and service of the people of the Punjab. He said they have done nothing except making false claims and promises and leveling allegations.

He said after five years, people have now come to known what is the reality, we had always worked for the betterment and welfare of the people. He said we had started during our tenure projects to generate 212 megawatt of power which they had stopped.
Emphatically saying that even today we are working for the welfare of the people, the Deputy Prime Minister said that Federal Minister for Human Resource Development Ch Wajahat Hussain has started the project for establishing 500 bed hospital and medical college for the workers.

He said Ch Shujat Hussain would very shortly inaugurate it. He said in the medical college, for the first time in the history of Pakistan, workers children would be provided free medical education.
