Manka Canal and Sem Nullah will be further widened to save DG Khan:Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa

Lahore: Senior Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa has said that in order to save DG Khan and the suburbs from the devastations of floods, Manka Canal and Sem Nullah will be further widened and deepend. He said that monitoring teams have been constituted for the transparent distribution of tents and dry ration in the affected areas.

He stated this during inspection of Manka Canal affected by flood water. MPAs Sardar Muhammad Hassamuddin Khan Khosa, Sardar Asim Zubair Khosa, Malik Salim Iqbal Advocate, Amanullah Mastoi, Azeem Khan Mastoi and other concerned officers accompanied him. Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan inspected Manka Road Chabri Bala, Yaro Khosa, Jhoke Yar Shah, Taunsa bypass and other areas. While inspecting the breach in Manka Canal, he directed the irrigation department to widen Manka Canal upto 50 feet instead of 12 feet and the banks should be raised. Similarly, Sem Nullah should also be widened and raised so that flood water could be thrown in both these canals, he added. He directed highways department to restore traffic by draining out water through pipes from the roads. While talking to the protestors at Taunsa bypass, MPA Sardar Muhammad Hassamuddin Khan Khosa said that Punjab government will extend all out assistance to the flood affectees and dry ration and other relief would be provided till their complete rehabilitation.
