Lahore: Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that dengue virus is a test for us by Almighty Allah and hoped that we will overcome it with the cooperation of the people belonging to every walk of life. He said that we should not fear from dengue but help the government in making Punjab dengue-free by adopting preventive measures.
He expressed these views while addressing a seminar regarding dengue at Government Degree College for Women, Gulshan-e-Ravi. He said that women particularly female students should take active part in creating awareness among the people about dengue as the role of women is very important in the progress of any society. He urged upon the female students to become a part of government efforts for eliminating this disease. Rana Mashhood said that dengue breeds 10 percent outside while 90 percent in houses, therefore, the women can play important role for controlling this disease through their strategy. He said that due to surprise visits and direct monitoring by Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the arrangements regarding treatment of dengue patients have improved considerably in government hospitals. He said that solid and effective strategy of Punjab government against dengue has started yielding positive results. Female students asked various questions from Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly regarding dengue. Rana Mashhood also appreciated the keen interest shown by students in anti-dengue campaign.
