Former American Senator Mike Gravel meets Iqbal Zafar Jhagra

Islamabad: Former American Senator Mike Gravel, DR. Afia Siddiqui’s counsel Tina Monshipour Foster and Dr. Afia’s sister Dr. Fouzia Siddiqui met Iqbal Zafar Jhagra Secretary General PML-N and exchanged views for release of Dr. Afia.
Iqbal Zafar Jhagra expressed their party’s concern and sympathies for Dr. Afia and explained the popular support of the Pakistani nation for the release of Dr. Afia who has already undergone unprecedented misery during her detention in the U.S

Jhagra asked Senator Mike Gravel to convey the sentiment of Pakistani nationals for Dr. Afia release and the Godwill that will be felt by every Pakistani for such act by the United States. Jhagra reiterated that the release of Dr. Afia will go a long way in restoration of friendly relationship and creation of congenial atmosphere between the two countries which has suffered a great set back in the past decade. Mike Gravel and Dr. Afia’s counsel believed that her extradition and detention in U.S was illegal and believed that the Government of Pakistan can play a vital role in getting realese for Dr. Afia.
