Awareness to masses about dengue is a social responsibility:Zakia Shahnawaz

Lahore: Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister, Begum Zakia Shahnawaz has said that Social Welfare Department has rendered invaluable services for creating public awareness under anti-dengue campaign.

She was talking to at 8-Club Road, here today. Begum Zakia Shahnawaz said that dengue is a seasonal virus and its cure is awareness of precautionary measures and their implementation. Social Welfare Department had started awareness campaign from the start of summer season under its social responsibility as a result of which people were saved from dengue disease, she added.

Secretary Social Welfare gave a detailed briefing to Begum Zakia Shahnawaz regarding departmental affairs. He also informed her about the details of relief activities extended by Social Welfare Department in flood affected districts. Begum Zakia Shahnawaz directed him to further improve departmental activities and said that she will soon visit Social Welfare Department.
