Lahore police manages to bust 529 gangs in current year

Lahore police has during first eight months of the current calendar year. A recovery of Rs 322.8 millions was made from them while over 28 thousand proclaimed offenders & court absconders were arrested during the period.
As many as 3028 cases were traced during which include 17 murders cases, 8 murder cum dacoity, 2 abduction for ransom, 97 dacoity, 1364 robbery, 1195 theft & burglary and 345 miscellaneous cases.
The recovery of 322.8 millions rupees includes 210 cars, 588 motorcycles, 35 wagons pickups rickshaws, 1362 mobile phones, 116 tola gold ornaments, 33.60 millions cash, prize bounds valuing Rs 45000 and other valuables.
As many as 16387 proclaimed offenders were arrested during the period who were involved in murder, attempted murder, dacoity, theft, robbery and other crimes besides arresting 12024 court absconders during the period.
Lahore police registered 3414 cases of illegal weapons arresting 3415 accused and recovered 26 Kalashnikovs, one sten gun, 145 rifles, 186 guns, 2821 pistols, 120 revolvers, 13 carbines, two mousers, 34 daggers, 349 magazines and over 20 thousand rounds form them.
During action against drug sellers 4853 cases were registered arresting 5004 accused effecting a recovery of over 134 kg heroin, over 1067 kg chars, over 16 kg opium, 245 intoxicating injection, 121 intoxicating tablets and 38767 bottles of liquor from them.
During the first eight months of the year 1083 gambling cases were registered arresting 4509 gamblers from whose possession stake money of Rs 7.3 million was recovered.
