Investigation Police Lytton Road arrested two accused wanted in murder of reader Lahore High Court Mazhar Iqbal Ghori, on the directive of Additional IG/CCPO Muhammad Aslam Tareen. A vehicle, P IV computer, licensed pistol, camera, prize bonds, property documents, cheque books and other important documents snatched by them from him were also recovered.
According to details, Mazhar’s brother Shahid informed the police that his brother who was serving in Lahore High Court as reader for last 25 years had been missing since 22 August and his mobile was also not responding. When his neighbour was contacted, he went to Mazhar’s house and reported that Mazhar had been murdered and his body was lying in his house. It was also reported that the murderers had also taken away Mazhar’s vehicle No. LWM/479, computer, licensed pistol, cheque books and property documents with them. The unknown accused could be indentified by Nasir Mehboob and Nadeem Yaqoob.
Upon this a case was registered in PS Lytton Road and investigation was assigned to SI Investigation Muhammad Afzal alongwith formation of an investigation team for assistance.
The investigation team got the data of Mazhar’s mobile phone 0300-4279945 and traced the murderers Humayu alias Hunny and Sajid residents of Muslim Colony, Jiya Mosa Shahdara after scrutiny of incoming and outgoing calls. After arrest the accused confessed of having murdered Mazhar Iqbal disclosing that he had illicit relations with real Aunt, Aashi Mubarik resident of Iqbal Town Sheikhupura Road, of Hamayu. Police has also recovered the vehicle and the snatched goods from the possession of the accused murderers.
The police party included Inspector Muhammad Rafique, Sub-Inspectors Muhammad Afzal & Muhammad Ijaz and Constables Mumtaz Ahmed & Rehmat Ali. CCPO Aslam Tareen has announced cash awards and commendation certificates for the investigation police party.
