Punjab Government is ready to fight dengue: Hamza Shahbaz

Lahore: Hamza Shahbaz Sharif has said that Punjab government has finalized arrangements for dealing with the menace of dengue. He said that the awareness in the people against dengue is a good omen. He said that people should also beware of political dengue virus at federal government which is sucking the blood of the masses.

He was addressing a function at Government Secondary Institute for the Blind at Sheranwala Gate in connection with anti-dengue day here today. Advisor to CM on health Kh. Salman Rafiq, MPA Kiran Dar, Special Secretary Education Abdullah Khan Sumbal, party workers, teachers and students attended the function in a large number. Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said that we will have to fight against dengue by rising above all kind of politics. He said that dengue had attacked the Lahorites suddenly last year, however, Punjab Chief Minister faced dengue courageously by activating all departments and social organizations and with the help of foreign experts due to which minimum loss to human lives occurred. Hamza Shahbaz said that this time Punjab government is fighting against dengue with proper resources and arrangements and besides government machinery, media, social organizations, citizens and students are fully participating in the campaign against dengue. He stressed upon the participants to ensure cleanliness and preventive measures for eradication of dengue virus.

Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said that the way people of Punjab are fighting against dengue, they can also defeat load-shedding or any other menace of the federal government. He said that general elections are near and practical efforts will have to be made for riding the nation of all problems. He said that a person of good repute has become Chief Election Commissioner and if the people did not exercised the right of their vote, the dream of elimination of poverty and corruption from Pakistan will never materialize. He said that the people should cast vote in favour of those who are making efforts sincerely for their welfare so that Pakistan could be put on the road to progress and prosperity. Hamza Shahbaz announced that two more filtration plants will be installed for provision of potable water to the residents of Sheranwala Gate.
