Health Departments issues directions to teaching hospitals for dengue day

Lahore: All senior officers of Health Department Punjab have been directed to visit teaching hospitals in various districts besides District and Tehisl Headquarters Hospitals and other health institutions and monitor the measures and activities regarding anti-dengue day on September 2.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Special Secretary Health Punjab Dawood Muhammad Bareech in which arrangements in connection with creating public awareness and eradication of dengue were reviewed. Additional Secretary Health(Admn) Dr. Sajid Mehmood Chohan, Additional Secretary (Establishment) Asfandyar Khan, Additional Secretary Health (Technical) Dr. Anwar Janjua, Deputy Secretary (Admn|) Dr. Bilal Haider, Deputy Secretary (MOs) Rana Saleem Afzal and other officers attended the meeting. The meeting was informed that Secretary Health Punjab Arif Nadeem, Special Secretary Health Dawood Bareech and Director General Health Punjab Dr. Nisar Cheema will visit hospitals and other medical institutions of district Sheikhpura, Kasur and Sialkot respectively whereas Additional Secretaries and Deputy Secretaries have been assigned the responsibility of reviewing arrangements and activities regarding public awareness, cleanliness, eradication of dengue and inspection of teaching, district and tehsil headquarters hospitals of Lahore. The meeting was told that Directors and other officers of Health department have been directed to monitor all district hospitals so that the causes of dengue breeding could be removed.

The meeting was told that administrations and heads of all government medical colleges, teaching hospitals, DHQ and THQ hospitals have been directed to arrange seminars and walks for public awareness and special cleanliness campaign in their institutions and all arrangements have been completed. Special seminars, walks and debates have been arranged in all institutions, hospitals and medical colleges of health department. In addition, students of medical colleges and officials of health department will also participate in the door to door awareness campaign and distribute pamphlets among the people. All offices of health department will remain open on September 2 as usual.
