Lahore: Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board, Dr. Umer Saif has said that the aim of national progress and development cannot be achieved without imparting modern education and training to the youth. He said that inauguration of Plan-9 Programme of Punjab Information Technology Board is a step towards this direction. He said that PITB will provide all necessary facilities and assistance for promotion of modern business activities and giving a practical shape to the innovative ideas of the youth relating to IT sector.
He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Plan-9 Programme of PITB at Arfa Karim Software Technology Park, here today. Dr. Umer Saif asked the youth to come forward and become a part of Plan-9.
He further said that the youth selected at Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad under Plan-9 talent hunt programme will be provided all facilities free of cost including office for six months as well as assistance in legal, economic and marketing sectors so that they could utilize all their energies in a proper manner for the promotion of small and medium business relating to IT sector in the country. He said that these selected youth after training will be helpful in the development of IT sector in Pakistan.
IT experts also highlighted various aspects of Plan-9 Programme and explained the importance of IT for promotion of business in Pakistan. The speakers appreciating this programme of Punjab government, paid rich tributes to the Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and said that the revolutionary progrmames started in Punjab have started yielding encouraging results. Members of PITB Advisory Committee also answered the questions of the youth on this occasion.
