Plan has been made to make Lahore crime free :Aslam Tareen

Lahore: CCPO Muhammad Aslam Tareen has said that a comprehensive Crime Prevention Plan has been chalked-out for purging Lahore of crime and to effectively rein in criminals. The Operations, Investigations wings and other sections of Lahore Police should act upon the plan in letter and spirit so as to induce sense of security in the public.
He was addressing a high level meeting of police office here, Tuesday, in the police lines which was attended by DIG Operations Rai Tahir, DIG Investigation Ch. Muhammad Shafiq, all divisional SPs, SP CIA, SP CRO, all SDPOs, SHOs, Incharge Investigations and other concerned, Tareen said that under the plan every police station would be provided with a Laptop having an EVO internet connection through which record of telephone calls would be acquired and photographs of suspects would be shown to applicants. The SHO, Incharge investigation and other police stations officers would used the laptop for crime fighting in a scientific manner.
Tareen said that each police station would be divided in six beats, armed jawans of Muhafiz and Mujahid squads would carry out patrolling in their respective beats during two shifts. Every beat would be supervised by and officer incharge who will supervise and check these squads. The beat office will be responsible and answerable for crime control in his area. Muhafiz squads will report about the narcotics & gambling dens to the SHO who will take immediate action against them. If some gambling/narcotics dens were found operating in some beat, action would be taken against the Muhafiz squad for not reporting about it. In case of the matter having been reported and action not taken, the SHO concerned would be taken to task for it. The motorcycles and mobile van mounted staff of Mujahid squad would be responsible for the security and surveillance of markets and business areas. The squads would also operate in dual shifts.
The CCPO directed that Operations wing & Investigation wing and other sections should work in complete harmony and coordination for crime fighting the divisional SPs and SDPOs should supervise operations under the plan in their respective areas. They would be responsible for holding meetings with the concerned staff periodically to get feed back and device strategy for crime fighting accordingly in their respective areas. He called upon them to device a coordinated and effective intelligence network besides keeping complete and updated information about the people living in their areas so as to check crimes and rein in criminals. Similarly strict vigilance should also be exercised with respect to those involved in sectarian activities. The CCPO hoped that implementation of the plan in its to spirit would helped check crimes and curbing the criminals.
