survey of suspicious places of breeding of dengue larva completes

Lahore: Local Government Department has completed survey of suspicious places of breeding of dengue larva in Lahore. As many as 7080 such sites have been identified and 18 teams have been constituted immediately for the eradication of dengue and mosquito. According to the survey, 3251 junk yards, 1149 basements, 1552 under construction buildings and 1128 neglected buildings exist where mosquito breeding is possible.

Secretary Local Government Punjab, Khizar Hayat Gondal has immediately constituted two teams for every town besides provision of necessary equipment, transport and pesticides and spray to them. Cleanliness work will be started tomorrow at all the places, he added. He said that officers of local government have been deputed for the supervision of every team comprising eight to ten persons. He said that special teams will submit their performance report along with photographs of the sites on daily basis.

He further said that in addition to continuous surveillance of special teams they will also be looked after and on the spot provision of agri-medicines, transport as well as food will be ensured to them. He informed that special uniforms have been provided to the officials conducting chemical spray. He further said that process of training of all the members of special committees has also been completed.
