Lahore: Secretary Punjab Women Development Department, Iram Bukhari has said that according to the instructions of Punjab government, Punjab Women Development Department and its subordinate institutions will remain open on Sunday August 26, 2012 in connection with anti-dengue awareness campaign.
This was disclosed by her while presiding over a high level meeting at her office at Johar Town, here today. Director Sajad Haider Sipra, Deputy Secretary Admin Nadir Khaleel, Deputy Director Coordination of GRAP Anees Ahmad Chaudhry, Section Officer Asad Abbas Magsi and other officers were also present on this occasion. The meeting reviewed in detail the measures taken by the government for eradication of dengue. It was decided in the meeting that compliance on the directions of government will be ensured.
Iram Bukhari while addressing the meeting, said that strict monitoring of disposing of solid waste in women hostels as well as observing cleanliness in all offices of the department would be ensured. She said it should be ensured that there should be no stagnant water in gutter covers, flower pots, on the roof tops of the offices of the department. She further said that anti-mosquito spray will be conducted in the offices and utilization of room coolers wherever installed should immediately be stopped. She said that old tyres in the offices of Women Development Department should be disposed off properly so that breeding of dengue larva could be stopped. It was decided in the meeting that gender specialists posted in GSU Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan and Gujranwala will monitor the activities in their respective offices and Women hostels regarding anti-dengue awareness campaign and will submit their activity reports to the offices of Secretary Women Development Department and concerned Incharge at 3 pm on the same day.
